ABOUT WSDAC

“God is light; In him there is no darkness...”

Westminster Seventh-day Adventist Church is a community of faith, a place of worship and fellowship. Our goal is to praise God through all our activities and be a positive influence in our local community. Every Saturday we have a special worship service. We also offer Bible studies for different group ages, youth activities, health & lifestyle programs and more.

WHY CHURCH ON SATURDAY?

The beneficent Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God’s unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. The Sabbath is God’s perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts.

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20:11

About Seventh-day Adventists

Adventists believe in the three persons of the Godhead — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit — make up one God.

They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counsellor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything — the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us — is a part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
